Peer-to-peer Pedagogy

Our peer-to-peer learning model is all about collaboration, teamwork, and communication. We believe that when students work together to solve real-world problems, they learn not just coding skills, but also valuable soft skills that are essential in today's workplace.

Project-based Learning

We take a hands-on approach to learning. Instead of a lot of theory, we provide increasingly difficult programming challenges to solve in teams. You'll learn how to seek out the theory and tools you need and develop the adaptability needed to succeed in the tech industry.

What is the Bildungsgutschein?

The Bildungsgutschein is a voucher program that helps people who are currently, or soon-to-be unemployed train for a new career and improve their chances of landing a new job. Participants receive unemployment benefits during the whole duration of their training.

To qualify for a Bildungsgutschein, you have to have been registered in Germany for over a year  and need to be registered with the Bundesagentur für Arbeit.

If you don’t know about your eligibility, contact your local job centre (“Arbeitsagentur” or “Jobcenter”) and ask if you are eligible for “Arbeitslosengeld 1” or “Bürgergeld”.

As a rule of thumb: You would probably know and have it already, it usually doesn’t make sense to apply for it just in order to study at 42.

If you want to study at 42 using an Education Voucher, please follow these steps.

Here is how it works:

Step 1:

If you have successfully passed your Piscine (more info about it here), download our job centre Infopack here.
This one-Pager tells the Agentur für Arbeit the most important facts and details of our curriculum.

Step 2:

Schedule a personal appointment with your contact at the job centre and bring our infopack with you. We recommend you go to the appointment very prepared, as you will have to explain why you want to study with us and how this will help your career in the future. Your agent might ask you the following questions:

  1. Why did you choose 42 Wolfsburg?
  2. Why do you want to choose this career path?
  3. How will studying at 42 Wolfsburg improve your chances of getting a new job?

We are also happy to help with any of these questions!

There is also our famous Bildungsgutschein Application Guide, which we highly suggest you download beforehand.

Step 3:

If your agent believes that our program is suitable for you, the education voucher is granted for 18 months. This gives you enough time to finish our core curriculum and have coding-knowledge comparable to a bachelor’s degree.

Note: Studying at 42 Wolfsburg using an Education Voucher is only possible as a full-time student with a required on-site attendance of 40 hours per week. Similar to a professional occupation, you have 30 days of holidays that you can take at your sole discretion.

Please make sure that the validity covers the start date of the next Kick-Off! And also hand in the voucher four weeks prior to your Kick-Off. You can find all the important dates here.
